Trout Derby 2018

Bring the family out for a free rainbow trout fishing derby in Abilene.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Abilene Parks and Recreation are hosting a free trout derby to bring fishing fun to families Dec. 8. TPWD will stock over a thousand rainbow trout in the lake for this event.
Experts will be on hand to help all levels of anglers catch these colorful fish. Other fun activities include fish identification, casting, knot-tying, and more. Hot dogs, chips, and hot cocoa will be available.
Loaner tackle will be available for kids, but supplies are limited. Bring your own equipment, if you have any. Anglers 17 and over will need a valid Texas fishing license.
