Travelers’ Storytelling Series: The Sierra Nevada, PCT + JMT

March 18, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm CST

Central California’s Sierra Nevada boasts of towering granite spires, alpine lakes, sparkling granite, and world-class backcountry travel. The John Muir Trail attracts hundreds of hikers every year attempting to traverse its length from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney, the tallest point in the lower 48. What do you need to cover the entire trail? Join Andrew Glenn for a talk about resupplies, gear needed to cover more ground, the psychology of long distance hiking, and ways to tackle the Sierra in a high snow year. Andrew “Peanut” Glenn is a long-distance hiker, lover of tacos, and marketing + creative guy based in Austin, TX. He thru-hiked the PCT in 2017, recently thru’d the John Muir Trail in 2018 with his dad, and on April 22nd will attempt to connect the CDT to the GDT for a 3,850 mile Rocky Mountain route. Current interests include P.Terry’s veggie burger, alpine mountaineering, and the wildflowers of the High Sierra. Let’s hang!
