Primitive Fire

Learn how to make fire as our ancestors once did.

The domestication of fire is perhaps one of the most important cultural breakthroughs for early man. Join a ranger to learn a bit about the history of fire and how to create fire as our ancestors once did; through primitive methods including the bow-drill and flint and steel.

Meet: Lost Pines Amphitheater

Note: This program is weather dependent. All park programs are free and open to the public with paid entrance fee ($7 per adult ages 13 and up, children12 and under are always free!). No need to register, just show up. Programs subject to changes and cancellations. Call the park for the most up to date information.
