Nature-based learning for children in grades 2-4

Calling all those who are eager to learn! Junior Earth Scholars is a monthly program for children in grades 2-4. It will build on itself from month-to-month as children learn about various nature-based topics and earn their Scholar Badges. The program will run from September until May on the first Saturday of each month. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to try to attend all classes in the series. 9:30AM-11AM.

Registration is required for EACH CHILD participant. Adults attending with their children should NOT register. Sorry, no group registrations; all minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Registration will be strictly enforced. If you do not receive an email confirmation, you are not signed up; you may have been placed on a waiting list. Do not show up for the class if you are not registered/do not receive an email confirmation, as you will be turned away.

Plan to arrive NO LATER THAN 9:15AM; program begins promptly at 9:30AM. Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and there can be wait times at the Fee Booth. Meet in the Exhibit Gallery next to the Visitor’s Center. Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing as the building is not heated or air conditioned. Bring water and a snack if you like.

Registration is limited. No pets allowed. All Natural Area entry fees apply. Register at https://friendsofgovernmentcanyon.org/events For more information about this program, email reservations@friendsofgc.org
