Heritage Hike

March 16, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

Join a park ranger on a guided hike to discover the past, present, and future of Hill Country State Natural Area!

We will be hiking the 1.1-mile Heritage Loop to explore how humans have used the land of Hill Country throughout the years. Throughout our journey, we will discover plants with a purpose, non-native animals, and historic buildings! The Heritage Loop is an easy trail. However, it is not paved and contains loose rock, so be sure to bring sturdy hiking shoes.

1.1-mile trail, about a 1 hour hike
This guided hike is limited to 15 people, so make sure to sign up inside Headquarters 15-30 minutes before the departure time
We will meet at the Heritage Garden outside of Headquarters
What to bring: Water, sturdy hiking shoes, hats, sunscreen, camera, and your sense of adventure!

Fees: Free with park admission. Park entrance fees are $6 per adult (13 years of age and older), free for children under 13.
Note: The Heritage Hike is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. Be sure to call headquarters the day of the guided hike to ask if the trails are open!
