First Day Hike: Wildlife Walk – Lockhart SP

Join us on a walk in search of the amazing wildlife that call Lockhart State Park home! Who knows what we will find?

Train your eyes and ears to find birds, snakes, mammals, and more in this fun and informative hike! We’ll be walking on the Hilltop, Fence Line, and Creekview Trails in an easy-to-moderate ¾-mile hike. All ages welcome! Since we will be looking for wildlife, please leave pets at home.

Prepare: Wear weather-appropriate clothing (layers recommended) and bring water.

Meet: If driving from park headquarters, take your first left-hand turn, pass the campgrounds, and park along the paved loop. Meet your Ranger where the Creekview and Hilltop Trails come together.

Fees: Regular park entrance fees apply ($3/adult, free for children 12 & under)
