First Day Hike & Polar Bear Plunge – Garner

Start 2019 off right by joining a ranger for a hike followed by a rejuvenating plunge in the Frio River!

Start the New Year off on the right foot by exploring Garner State Park. Join a ranger for a 3.5 mile guided hike followed by a dip in the Frio River.

Meet Ranger Shaylee at the Visitor Center at 11:00am where our hike will begin on the Wild Horse Creek trail followed by the Foshee trail all the way across to and up Old Baldy. After the hike feel free to join us at the dam for Garner’s first annual Polar Bear Plunge and let the Frio River replenish your soul.

*All ages are welcome. Trails are moderate to strenuous please wear closed toed shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks if you like. Pets are welcome; must be on a leash at all times and have plenty of drinking water*
