Birding 101 – Enchanted Rock

Birds and binoculars! Join a ranger for an introduction to the great hobby of birding.

Have you seen a bird? Do you want to see birds? Do you want to know what birds you see? Join us for a guided introduction to birdwatching. We’ll start with binoculars and basic identification, then go for a short stroll to try out our new skills and see what we can find!

What do they see? Come find out!
Loaner binoculars are available for the first 12 visitors. You are also welcome to bring your own binoculars, cameras, etc.

Meet in the day-use picnic area near the comfort station restroom.

Binoculars (if you’ve got ’em)
Walking shoes
Dress for the weather
Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee for this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

Please NO PETS for this event.

If you are arriving before or after office hours, you will need to use the self-pay station to obtain your park entrance permit. The self-pay station is located at the front door of the office. Self-pay is cash (exact change), check or Texas State Parks Pass only.

*NOTE: If you are planning on attending this event, you will most likely need to arrive before 9AM. Enchanted Rock often reaches capacity on holidays and weekends between October and July. If the park reaches capacity, it will close to additional visitors.
