About the Lake

Airport Park is located on the north shore of Waco Lake and provides a variety of recreation opportunities, including: boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and bicycling. Approximately 2,000 acres surrounding the lake are open to hunting for dove, duck, white-tailed deer and wild turkey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provides additional information about hunting at Lake Waco.

The park is well-developed, featuring a boat ramp, marina and restaurant. Camping and picnicking opportunities are available in abundance. Developed (RV) and primitive tent campsites are available, as well as more than 70 day use sites for picnicking. A large group shelter, capable of seating 100 people, is also available; the shelter can be rented from March 1 through October 31 annually. The group shelter is not available for overnight use.

Airport Park is located on the north shore of Waco Lake. From Interstate Highway 35, take Lake Shore Drive and exit on Steinbeck Bend Road. Turn right at Airport Road and proceed 2 miles.

Hours

Open 7 days a week year-round from 6 AM to 10 PM for day use activities.

Fees

A park entrance fee is charged per day -- $1 per person or a maximum of $3 per vehicle.

A boat launch fee of $2 per day is charged for boat access. Campsite and other facility fees are in addition to the park entrance fee.
