About the City Park

Located on Lake Austin, 215-acre Commons Ford Park features opportunities for boating, fishing, nature study, picnicking, swimming and wildlife observation. Approximately 2.4 miles of hiking trails are located in the park. The Waterfall Trail is a 1.25-mile round trip and takes visitors along a wooded creek to several small waterfalls, while the slightly shorter Pecan Grove Loop includes access to Lake Austin.

Formerly a working ranch, the park's primary feature is a 2,500-square foot unfurnished ranch house with two patios and a swimming pool -- is available for day use rental. The house accommodates 50 people indoors or up to 150 people if the patios are used. A large picnic area is also available, as well as accessories for games of volleyball, horseshoes or croquet.

Located near Lake Austin on Commons Ford Road North. reach Commons Ford Road by taking FM 2244 (Bee Caves Road) to Cuernavaca Drive. The park entrance will be on your left and consists of little more than a place to park.

The park is available for day use only and is open only for limited hours -- Tuesday through Sunday, 1 PM to 6 PM daily. Closed Mondays.
