Barton Creek Greenbelt - Upper & Lower Units
Austin, Texas (Travis County)

Download a Park Map

About the City Park

772.47 acre Barton Creek Greenbelt is one of the best hiking trails in Texas, despite it being ("officially") just 7.25 miles long. We say officially because there are many more miles to be had due to unmarked trails snaking throughout the Greenbelt and connecting to neighboring Zilker Park and communities.

Activities include rock climbing (limestone cliffs), hiking and mountain biking. Wet weather brings additional recreation opportunities such as: swimming, cliff diving, kayaking and tubing.

The City of Austin maintains the Barton Creek parks, which include: the Lower Greenbelt, the Upper Greenbelt and the Barton Creek Wilderness Park.
