About the State Historic Site

Proof that good things come in small packages, Acton State Historic Site is Texas' smallest historic site with a total of just .01 acres. The historic site is located in old Acton Cemetery in Hood County. It is the burial site of Elizabeth Crockett, the second wife of Davy Crockett -- one of the defenders of the Alamo.

Although this is not a traditional "park", like all old cemetaries it is rich with history.

Located 4.5 miles east of Granbury via US 377 to FM 167 South, then 2.4 miles south on FM 167 to Acton in northeast Hood County.
