*** FROM THE EDITOR
In the month of June, Wild Texas switched web hosting providers --
twice. Some of you may have noticed we were offline for about 48
hours, and for that I apologize. Since its inception in 1995,
Wild Texas had never been "off the air" for that long.
The good news is we are now settled in with our new hosting service,
and we can now take advantage of some Really Cool Stuff! :) Read on
to find out more.

*** LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD LINKS?
Wild Texas has always aimed to connect people with the information
they seek, whether that information's available on our site or
someone else's. To that end, we have added a Yahoo-style searchable
links directory which is currently populated with over 800 links.
Here you will find links to other Texas travel and recreation sites,
as well as more general sites. You are welcome to submit a link for
possible inclusion in our directory, and in fact we encourage you to
do so. Don't worry, it's free!
We want the Wild Texas Web Guide to become an indispensible
resource for Texas traveler and outdoors enthusiast. Check it out and
let us know if we missed any important categories.

*** EXPLORING THE SITE
Since many of the new features we have added to Wild Texas are kind
of "transparent" to the casual visitor, I wanted to point them out
for your benefit. Please note, all of the features mentioned below
are only available to registered users of our forums. Registration
is free and takes just a few moments.
Did You Know:
- You can now use avatars in our message forums.
Take a look at the link below. See the small "Wild Texas" logo?
That's my avatar for the forums. You can upload anything you
want as your avatar (use good judgment, this is a family site.)
- You can now send private messages to other Wild Texas registered
users in our message forums.
Just click on the small "PM" icon displayed after any message
the user has posted, or add them to your "Buddy List" on the
Control Panel and you can send them a private message any time.
- You can print message forum postings easily, now.
Under every message in our forums, there are three links, the
first of which is "Show a Printable Version". This link strips
out all of the images, table formatting and color from the
message posting so you can print it quickly and easily. A
great feature when you run across a useful nugget of information
in the forums!
We'll do another "Did You Know" segment in the future, as new
functionality is added to the site. Until then, ENJOY!
