Welcome to the latest edition of the Wild Texas Newsletter, your guide to Texas parks, nature, and travel. We have been on hiatus from newsletter writing and outdoor activities for the past several months . . . a nasty consequence of that thing called "life" with which everyone is all too familiar.

*** EXPERIENCE LOST MAPLES ONLINE!

The folks at The Color Place, a full-service photo lab in Dallas, recently gave us permission to use one of their amazing QuickTime VR movies on Wild Texas. The movie features a 360-degree panorama of Lost Maples State Natural Area, one of our favorite Texas parks. With the appropriate software, visitors can experience Lost Maples online simply by clicking their mouse and dragging the pointer to navigate through the scene. If you have never viewed a QuickTime movie, perhaps now is a good time to see what this exciting new technology is all about!

To view the movie, you will need to have a QuickTime VR viewer, available for free from Apple at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
