Amazon.com Product Description Bring the family to the campsite and still have plenty of room to spare with the two-room Columbia Cougar Flats II cabin dome tent. The Cougar Flats II--which sleeps up to eight people--is equipped with both a Cyclone venting system and a GoBe Dry rain protection system. The Cyclone system greatly increases the air circulation within the tent, helping you stay cool on warmer days or dry out after a nasty rainstorm. The GoBe Dry system, meanwhile, ensures that the pounding rain won't find a way inside. The tent even includes a patented bay window design that lets you keep the windows open during the storm. The real highlight of the tent, however, is the spacious interior, which divides its ample sleeping space between two different rooms. As a result, you can give the kids one room and the adults the other, or you can use one room as a bedroom and the other as a living space. In addition, the interior of the tent offers plenty of organizational features, such as internal pockets, cupholders for coffee or soft drinks, and a gear loft that holds your valuables out of the way. And once it's time to leave the campsite, the tent collapses quickly into a wheeled EZ Pak storage bag, which features an expandable zippered gusset for easy stuffing. Other features include a polyester taffeta body and rainfly, steel and fiberglass poles, two separate doors, and a Camp Port for easy cable passage. The Cougar Flats II measures 15 by 7.16 by 10 feet (W x H x D) and weighs 54 pounds. Key Features: - Tent Type: Family

About Columbia Sportswear Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company. Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign. The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

Great Roomy Tent Had Problem With Poles so did a Friend November 15, 2009 Ramon A. Garcia (Los Angeles, CA) So I bought this tent a couple years ago after seeing a friend with it on a group camping trip. It's great, very roomy and has some great features. At that time the friend told me he'd replaced the upper plastic poles with aluminum ones. He wanted them to be stronger.
Well I've used the tent about a half dozen or more times. The elastic which holds the over-head poles together failed on one of them during my third use of the tent. I've used the tent two times since then, and just manually squeezed the pole together during assembly. On the last trip another pole had it's elastic fail as well.
Now I've only used this tent in mild, summer weather. Beaches and forests here in California. The tent has always been gently packed and stored indoors away from harsh temperatures.
So overall I'd definitely recommend this tent as a great value for the money and I really like the new color scheme. But I would be careful with the tent poles and don't be surprised if you have a failure of the elastic.
great family tent October 15, 2009 Brandon D. Floersch (Avondale, AZ USA) This tent is great for camping families. I take my wife and 2 kids out camping 2 or 3 times a month and this tent works very well for it. We tend to go way out into the mountains of arizona on camping, fishing, and hunting trips so it is very important for us not to have any major problems with our gear. This particular tent is easy to put up with 1 person and very easy to put up with 2 or more people. for 1 person I recommend putting the rain fly on after the top fiberglass poles are installed befor raising the tent. It is intended to be a great tent for rainy conditions, however no matter how much we go camping, it has yet to rain of us. My chief two complaints are; 1) the rear slanted window poles are to long so they spinter after a short time of use, I am sure that Columbia would have replaced them for free but I have not had time to call them. I fixed the problem by dis-assembling the poles and shortening them by two inches, I also wrapped the weakend parts of the poles with a single layer of duct tape to prevent any further splintering. 2) The connection points have color coded tape on them to be used for assembly, this is very convenient but the tape started coming off after the six assembly. I fixed this problem by assembling the tent and spray painting the connections with their corrisponding colors. Over all this thent is great and I recommend it to any campers on the lookout for a good tent.
Here is the number for replacement poles October 14, 2009 David Clow (Annapolis, MD United States) You actually call North Pole @ 866-706-9377
Customer says there was a bad batch of poles manufactured, a resin issue.
I have all the normal loves and dislikes for this tent. With the new and improved poles I will be a very satisfied customer.
Size - Great tent for a big guy, double size inflatable queen mattress and a sitting room in the front is fantastic
Rain - haven't treated the tent but had no problems in a rainy, misty weekend (no heavy downpours)
setup - after the first time, we average 15-20 minutes takedown setup
caveat - I don't use the loops at the top of the door to the center pole
Worth the money October 7, 2009 Lemonyfresh (Minnesota) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you're reading reviews, you're going to read that the poles for the bay windows break. And they did. The first time I used them. But that's ok, because this tent STILL rocks! I put it up myself in about 30 minutes and that was with two little ones running around. Takedown was only 20 minutes and everything fit in the bag. That's a winner folks. The bag expands in the expectation that a human being can't possibly fold it as tight as the factory. The poles are color-coded and very durable (except for the windows). Great quality fabric, bag, tub floor. Here's the crown though: I let it sit up for a week in my backyard. We received several inches of rain that week. I hadn't staked the rain fly out and about two gallons of water accumulated on the fly over the big window. AND IT DIDNT LEAK! Thats a rockstar tent.
Great Tent but just one thing wrong October 2, 2009 R. Kratzer (PA, USA) Let me start off by saying that the reviews I have read on Amazon and other sites about this tent were correct. The tent is easy to setup and you have a bunch of room to move inside. Not to many people mentioned it, but you can get a queen size double high air bed in the one section with the bay windows and still have room to move. The reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because most of the people mentioned about the bay window poles break easy, and they were right. I used the tent for the first time on Labor Day weekend and both of the poles broke. I could complain about it or return the tent like other people did, but I called the number on the instruction sheet and they sent me to replacement poles within 7 days. Now then I can't say that these poles will be any better, but maybe they can come up with another design and allow people the opportunity to have their current bay window poles swapped out with a new design. If they don't come up with a new design, then they should send the customer about 5-10 sets of bay window poles so they have replacements when the poles break. Other then this one little problem, the tent is GREAT!!!
