1 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit right without cutting off circulation   October 27, 2009

I found it almost impossible to adjust it to keep my foot in the proper position. If I made it loose enough that it didn't cut off circulation in my foot (or calf), then it would slip down the calf and my foot would end up pretty much in its normal position. If I made things tight enough to somewhat hold my foot in the position it should be in for a device like this, then my toes would start to tingle and foot fall asleep right away or there would bee a lot of pressure on my lower leg/ calf area.

Basically, if your foot flexes downward (away from the knee, which is what you're trying to prevent) then it just causes the velcro around the calf to slide down unless you make everything incredibly tight.

Like some others, I had to rip it off after not wearing it for very long in order for me to fall asleep (rather than just having my foot asleep, that is).

I think the concept of "pulling up" on your foot from the top may just be flawed, as opposed to having something under your foot to "push up" on it or hold it up.

Complete waste of money for me. Maybe it would work for some depending on the size and structure of your foot and calf.

5 out of 5 stars Work Great!!! Give them a shot!!   October 18, 2009

These things work wonders...give them a try!!!

I had plantar fasciitis for a little over a year now and it was getting worse and worse. The pain in the morning was terrible. Everyday, I would wake up and my feet would be killing me. On a scale of 1-10 (1 = being mild discomfort and 10 being severe pain/ can't even walk)...my pain in the morning was around an 8..sometimes even a 9. I saw these Futuro night splints on Amazon and saw all of the positive reviews they were getting so I thought I'd give them a try. Well, the reviews are well deserved because these things work wonders. After two days of wearing them to bed (very comfortable and easy to use by the way and easy to walk around in your house), I woke up and for the first time in a year...I had only a mild foot pain. My pain had gone from a 8 to a 2 in a matter of days. It's been a week now and my feet feel great. Just make sure you where them EVERY night for the best results...I went to bed once without them and I regretted it in the monring because, surprise surprise, my feet were killing me again.

The only things I would say is to check a couple CVS stores near you because they sell it.

Also note that only 1 splint comes in each box. I made the mistake of thinking two came in the box but, that's a mistake. So if you've got problems in both feet, make sure you order 2 of them.

Otherwise I can't say enough nice things about this product.

I highly recommend it.

I tried these for 3 weeks. I noticed that the velcro wore out and wouldn't stick properly at the end of the 3 weeks. If I made them too tight around the foot (so the foot can pull forward), it bothered my neuroma. If I left it too loose, it didnt do much for healing. The one good thing was that it wasn't so bad to walk to the bathroom with them on. Unfortunately, over all I still suffer from plantar fasciitis, so I ordered the "boots".

5 out of 5 stars Really does help relieve overnight Fasciitis pain   September 24, 2009

I don't submit reviews unless I am really impressed by a product. I have been suffering from acute Plantar Fasciitis for over 2 months that was aggravated by a sports injury. I used to wake up in the morning unable to step on my heel due to the pain. I investigated several braces which were designed for the same purpose. I selected this one because it was the least bulky. It really does help and has significantly reduced the morning pain but you still need to follow up with proper exercise and medical care because this only works on the symptoms caused by overnight shrinking of the membranes. Repeated over-stretching of the fascia, pressure on the bone spur, and constant pressure on the heel during the day contributes to aggravating the condition. Also get the proper orthotics under the care of a specialist for your specific condition.
