Amazon.com Product Description
Adding a bit of spark to the original kick scooter, the Razor Spark has modified its A2 scooter with a foot controlled, detachable Spark Bar to light up your ride. The Spark Scooter's spark cartridge creates 20 percent more sparks than other brands on the market thanks to its 5 flint pads. A bonus spark cartridge is included.

Light up your ride with the Razor Spark.
The Razor Spark is built of aircraft-grade aluminum, a sturdy material that holds up to use and abuse through the years. Its T-tube and deck, meanwhile, fold up into a compact footprint, so riders can fit the scooter inside a bag or carry it at their side when riding isn't appropriate (it weighs 7 pounds). And thanks to the 98mm inline-style urethane wheels, ABEC 5 bearings, and patented rear fender brake, riders will always feel smooth and in control when kicking along the sidewalk.

Recommended for ages 8 and older, the Razor Spark will support a rider up to 143 pounds. It's also backed by a six-month warranty.

3 out of 5 stars Nice scooter....too bad it didn't spark well.   November 17, 2009

The scooter itself is great. It is easy to put together, folds up nicely, and feels very solid. The only real problem is that you don't get the same kind of sparks as you see on television, and I would have been better off tying some sparklers to it while my son was riding on it. I would have saved a lot of money and replacements would have been cheap and easy to find. The sparks that come out are very weak, which was a real disappointment for my son. Hopefully this was a lesson for him not to believe what he sees on television commercials. I suppose if he were riding down hill on a really rough roadway and he put all of his weight down, he MIGHT be able to get some decent sparks. The problem is that putting that kind of pressure on the scooter would seriously unbalance the rider and create an safe situation. Also, I don't know how stable this would be going down a really steep hill, again, possibly creating an unsafe situation. Of course, I wouldn't recommend tying sparklers to it either (I was being a bit sarcastic). It's really too bad, because this would be a great idea for kids. I would save your money and buy a regular Razor scooter.

Overall great product. The only problem is the sparking mechanism gets in the way of the brake. It can be a little confusing for the younger riders at first.

I bought this scooter for my son as his 8th birthday present. He loved it so much, really enjoyed doing the sparks. He told me it's the best scooter he had ever.

1 out of 5 stars expensive gimmick   October 2, 2009

I purchased this for my grandson because he seemed to be excited about the TV commercial. Flames high behind the kid. I helped him put it together and we went out to see for ourselves. Wow, what a disappointment. He could have drug a chain behind him and achieved the same result. He played on it for less than 20 minutes and came in to tell me the "sparks" were gone. Sure enough, no sparks and time to change the sparkler box. I called about this and was told that if you use the brakes, the box will wear down quickly. Ahh, within 20 minutes? No, this was unacceptable. I sent it back and purchased a regular Razor scooter from a local dealer at a much lower price and no sparkler replacement to be purchased. My issue is not with the scooter itself just the ripoff gimmick of the sparks. The scooter is great and my grandson enjoys it a lot. I am saying--don't waste your money on the sparkler part. I notice there are no more ads for it lately. Does that say it for me?

4 out of 5 stars Big hit!   September 17, 2009

My son loves the scooter. He understands the sparks don't last forever and is glad to know that we can order more. The one thing we did not like was the additional bolt covers. They were hard to put on and one completely ripped off taking the underlying sticker off. This was upsetting to my son because it looks very messy for a brand new scooter. I would recommend just leaving those covers off.
