Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Originally developed for the Swedish Department of Defense, Swedish FireSteel is a flash of genius. Its 3,000°C spark makes fire building easy in any weather, at any altitude. Used by a number of armies around the world, Swedish FireSteel's dependability has already made it a favorite of survival experts, hunters, fishermen and campers. It has also found its way into cabins and backyards as a fool-proof way to light stoves and gas-barbecues.

5 out of 5 stars The best!   November 21, 2009
IceCreamLoverInSeattle (Seattle, WA)
No doubt the best firestarter out there....this is the real Swedish Firesteel. Beware the cheap Chinese imitation......you may need this to save your life someday...

3 out of 5 stars Decent fire starter   November 10, 2009
Thomas Vanderhoof (Tallahassee, FL USA)
I am not terribly impressed with this firesteel product. I think the magnesium fire starter kits are better because you can scrape off a pile of magnesium and then light the pile. You can't do that with the firesteel.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent quality firestarter!   October 31, 2009

This an excellent firestarter. Very well made and should get the full life expectancy as advertised. Produces a huge amount of spark and heat to get even the toughest kindle ablaze! Wont go camping with out it!!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Survival Tool   October 14, 2009

no survival pack should be without a swedish firesteel. these things really work! just a light scraping and the sparks fly. you must get some good kindling/tinder and you are good to go. the product is durable and affordable and will last for years. great for camping in case your matches arent waterproof and they get wet.
